Inverroche Classic was one of the earliest gins to emerge out of South Africa when it launched in 2011. It is a wild, flavourful exploration through the shrubland of its home country, with well over 20 botanicals in the line-up.
Inverroche Classic Gin employs huge amounts of fynbos (an endless selection of plants from the Cape Floral Kingdom) in its recipe. It’s full of bold citrus flavours and soft, hay-like florals – a totally unique gin, best served with ginger ale.
To create Inverroche Classic Gin, the distillery layers its botanicals in steam baskets above the pot still thus vapour infusing the botanicals. Though the still is 1000L, it’s never fully filled producing relatively small batches at a time.
Inverroche Distillery was founded by mother and son duo Lorna and Rohan Scott, who began experimenting with a 1.7-litre copper pot still back in 2007. Their reputation grew, attracting the attention of Pernod Ricard who are now stake holders.
Inverroche Distillery has spread pretty well across the globe, and there’s little wonder – its products are exemplary, and with such clarity of flavour coming from the fynbos, each a neat representation of their home country.
