Orange zest with fragrant notes of earl grey tea and juniper lead, before a long peppery finish. Serve with Mediterranean tonic water and a slice of pink grapefruit.
Juniper, coriander, angelica, orris root, cassia bark, liquorice, orange and lemon peel are steeped overnight in wheat spirit. The distillation is long and slow, done to a multi-shot London Dry method.
The Lakes was founded by Paul Currie, who has been involved in the spirits industry for most of his life. Master blender Sarah Burgess oversees all of their spirits production, aiming to produce a timeless, classic collection.
Located in Cumbria, The Lakes Distillery is housed within a 160-year old building (once a dairy farm) which stood derelict for over 20 years. Following an extensive and very impressive renovation, this beautiful site is open to visitors year-round.
