It has earthy notes of Agave followed by tones of vanilla, caramel and melted butter. Perfect for sipping or in classic cocktails such as an Old Fashioned or Negroni. Also mixes particularly well with ginger ale.
Vivir uses 8-9 year old lowland and highland agave, which is cooked in traditional clay ovens and autoclaves. The distillery has a natural spring in the centre of it that feeds pure spring water from a local volcano.
Vivir was founded by drink veterans Paul Hayes and Nav Grewal when, having worked with agave for more than 16 years in Mexico, they wanted to release a premium 100% Agave tequila to help shift perception away from shot, salt and lime culture.
Vivir is made at Casa Maestri distillery – a family-run operation in Jalisco. Their serpent logo is a twist on traditional Mexican artwork. It represents Quetzalcoatl, the ‘Feathered Serpent’, part of the Aztec story of how tequila came to be.
