CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE – LA PART DES ANGES 2021 – RAYMOND USSEGLIO

When a wine is placed in casks for ageing, the part of the volume that evaporates is called la part des anges (the angels’ share). The Part des anges is a rather unusual wine for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape because it is the Mourvèdre that dominates 70% of the blend completed by 20% Grenache and 10% Syrah. This does not detract from the beauty of the bottle on the contrary, its atypical and temperamental side gives it a charming advantage. However, the wine needs to be decanted, if you open it in the next two years.
