TERROIR GASCON 2021 – DOMAINE CHIROULET

Description

Terroir Gascon represents the red style introduced by the domaine, lovingly expressed in fruit and smoothness without moving away from the character that conveys the terroir’s mark. The vineyard is located on a wind-swept, 180-metre-altitude ridge. Chiroula means whistling wind in the Gascon dialect. The grape varieties are complemented in this blend with 47% Merlot being the backbone of this Terroir Gascon vintage. This aromatic grape variety is the main source of its fruity structure and comes through with a beautifully crisp roundness. It draws its freshness from the Cabernet Franc, forming 28% of the blend and offering aromas of small woodland fruits and violets. Whereas the 25% blend of Tanat brings structure and the typical Gascon character with a muted tannic finish. Vinification has been measured for a blend that overflows with crisp fruit underlined to perfection by gentle ageing and fine tannins.
