SAVENNIERES BELLEVUE 2021 – DOMAINE BAUDOUIN

Description

Produced from a parcel planted on deposits of ochre talous shale in 2009, the vineyard is located on a gentle slope with a southern exposure in the area around Savennières – with a view over the Loire River. This vintage really deserves its name! The soil has been ploughed by horses since Autumn 2016. In April 2017, the parcel was completely frozen like a large number of other Savennières vines but in 2021, it came back to life! Its nose reveals notes of nectarine and wild roses as well as wet stones to add to its complexity. Its sumptuous flavours of stone fruits are underlined by hints of citrus that form the main structure of this wine. Tonic, saline and herbaceous, this Chenin Blanc was harvested early to avoid botrytis tainting its precision. The finish is long with notes of aniseed. A fresh, complex Savennières of great purity!
