With a profile that aims to transport you to the bustle of moorish bazaars, this whisky has an rich and aromatic nose with dried fruit and ginger. To taste, sun-dried dates, tasted oak and spice that build in intensity and linger on the finish.
The Whiskymaker’s Reserve No.6 is matured in the finest Oloroso, PX and red wine casks (comprising Spanish and American oak). It's a melange of casks but the ex-sherry influence is the dominant factor in the blend and palpable throughout.
The Lakes was founded by Paul Currie, who has been involved in the spirits industry for most of his life. Master Blender Sarah Burgess oversees all of their spirits production, aiming to produce a timeless, classic collection.
Located in Cumbria, The Lakes Distillery is housed within a 160-year old building (once a dairy farm) which stood derelict for over 20 years. Following an extensive and very impressive renovation, this beautiful site is open to visitors year-round.
