Produced from the first pressing of sugar cane juice rather than molasses - Ron Zacapa XO Rum is a mixture of rums aged for between 6 and 25 years, blended via the Solera system in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, then finished in Ex-Cognac casks.
Made by Idustrias Licoreras de Guatemala, which was created at the beginning of the 20th century by Venancio, Andrés, Felipe, Jesús and Alejandro Botran, who emigrated from Spain to start a distillery business.
Ron Zacapa is produced in a small town in Guatemala named Zacapaneca. Based in the highlands of Quetzaltenango, their warehouses are 2,300+ metres above sea level which has a significant effect on the maturation process.
Crafted in Guatemala, Ron Zacapa 23 Rum is made from rums aged for between 6 and 23 years, blended via the Solera system to offer notes of stone fruit.
